Bucket Truck Operator/Tree Surgeon

The Town of Weymouth is currently accepting applications for a Bucket Truck Operator/Tree Surgeon.  Performs any or all work ascribed to the maintenance man classification, but at a higher level with respect to individual tasks or requiring more overall ability and versatility. Supervises and instructs subordinates in methods of performing specialized maintenance tasks as are pertinent to the operating division to which assigned

Have the proven ability to climb trees (belt and spurs); operate a mechanical aerial device; trim and top trees, remove branches and limbs; prune trees, perform cabling; bolting and bracing operations and incidental cavity work as directed. Must have physical ability to meet climbing requirements, skills in use of ropes, rigging, ladders and characteristic tools and the ability to work at heights. Work requires independent judgment and skilled operations of assigned equipment to avoid damage to public or private property or to endangering public safety. Errors could result in damage to expensive equipment or serious injury to person or persons in the work crew. Work requires constant and substantial physical effort. Overtime requires in wind or snow storms.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school graduate, experience in the operation of aerial equipment, tree trimming, pruning and removal; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.                                                           

Minimum Requirements:

  • CDL class B minimum and 2B Hoisting Licenses for Aerial Bucket truck operation

Starting Salary:  $58,823.02

Full Range: $58,823.02 to 74,430.23
